Privacy Policy

TL;DR: We don't track you, sell your data, or run ads. We store only your on-site preferences in your browser's local storage. We use Cloudflare to serve the site and Stripe to process donations; both may collect limited data that's necessary for security and payments.
What we collect when you browse
itsy news does not collect personal information when you simply read the site. We do not set or read tracking cookies, fingerprint your device, or run third‑party analytics scripts.
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may process standard technical data (e.g., IP address, user agent, timestamps) to deliver the site, mitigate abuse, and provide basic, aggregate analytics. We do not use this to profile individuals. See the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
User settings (local storage)
We store your on-site preferences in your browser's local storage (not cookies). Examples:

These values stay on your device and are not sent to us.
Donations (Stripe)
Donations are processed by Stripe. When you donate (one‑time or monthly), Stripe may collect information needed to complete the payment and prevent fraud, such as your name, email address, billing address, payment method details, device/IP info, and related metadata. We do not handle or store your full card number; that goes directly to Stripe.
What we see: basic transaction details from Stripe (e.g., amount, currency, date/time, payment status, and, if provided, your email for receipts/support). We do not use donor emails for marketing, only for receipts or donation-related support.
Manage support: you can cancel monthly support or update details via the links Stripe provides in your receipt, or by contacting us.

Cookies and third‑party scripts
- We don't set tracking cookies and we don't serve ads.
- Cloudflare may set essential cookies (e.g.,
__cf_bm,cf_clearance) for security and performance. - The donations page loads Stripe's scripts, which may set essential cookies (e.g.,
__stripe_mid,__stripe_sid) to process payments securely.
Outside of the donations flow, we avoid third‑party scripts.
Sharing and selling of data
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We share data only with service providers necessary to run the site and process donations (Cloudflare and Stripe).
- Charity splits: funds designated for charities are passed through without sharing your personal information with the charities unless you explicitly ask us to do so.
Data retention
We don't keep browsing data about you. Local storage preferences remain on your device until you clear them. Donation records are retained in Stripe for receipts, fraud prevention, and legal/accounting purposes.
Security
We use HTTPS everywhere and rely on Cloudflare's edge network for transport security and DDoS protection. Payment details are handled by Stripe, a PCI-DSS compliant provider.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information. For any privacy request related to itsy news or donations, contact us and we'll help or direct you to Stripe where appropriate.
Children's privacy
itsy news is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
International transfers
Our providers (Cloudflare, Stripe) may process data in the United States and other countries. We choose providers that implement appropriate safeguards for international transfers where required.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top and, where appropriate, provide a notice on the site.
